Alexander Bakhchiev ( 1930 - 2007 ) was born in Moscow, Russia. He studied at the Moscow Conservatory and subsequently was a professor there. He recorded a large number of LPs as soloist and also has had an extensive career of performance of duos with his wife Elena Sorokina.
