Lamar Crowson ( 1926 - 1998 ) was born in Tampa, Florida. He studied at Reed College and subsequently the Royal College of Music. He performed well in the 1952 Queen Elisabeth competition which gave his name prominence. He primarily was a accompanist pianist and he performed with artists such as Pierre Fournier, Jacqueline du Pre and Itzhak Perlman.
