Nicholas Angelich ( 1970 - 2022 ) was born in the United States. Winning the Casadesus and Bachauer competitions in 1989 and 1994 respectively helped establish his career. He has since recorded several works by Brahms and Liszt, but has also included Bach and Trotignon works to round out his repetoire. He continued to record and perform in the Lugano festival. He passed away prematurely due to lung disease.
