Earl Wild ( 1915 - 2010 ) was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was a virtuoso pianist and transcribed many works for piano. His recordings of Liszt, Chopin and other romantic composers are highly regarded. He also wrote original compositions which include a piano sonata and two concertos. Many of his transcriptions and compositions he recorded as well.
