Robert Casadesus ( 1899 - 1972 ) was a born in Paris, France. He was a composer and also considered one of the great pianists of the 20th century. He was an excellent example of the French school of piano. He had a long and prolific career under the Columbia where recorded to much acclaim works by Mozart, Fauré, Ravel, and Beethoven. He was also an avid composer for piano as he composed several preludes, 4 sonatas and 3 piano concertos.
