Clara Haskil ( 1895 - 1960 ) was born in Bucharest, Romania. Her studies took her across Vienna and Paris where she studied briefly with Ferruccio Busoni and Alfred Cortot. She recorded for the major classical labels and is widely acclaimed for her recordings of Mozart.
