Géza Anda ( 1921 - 1976 ) was born in Budapest, Hungary. Although his career was cut short due to cancer, he was nick named the troubadour of the piano by Furtwangler. Anda played all of the Mozart Piano Concertos with himself as the conductor and pianist and was an early interpreter of all 3 of the Bartók concertos.
