Alicia de Larrocha ( 1923 - 2009 ) was born in Barcelona, Spain. She studied with teacher Frank Marshall and gave her first concert as early as six years of age. She would quickly become infamous for performing Spanish music that included Falla, Granados, Albeniz and Mompou. She is widely considered to be one of the greatest pianists of the 20th century.
