Barbara Nissman ( 1944 ) was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She studied at the University of Michigan and conductor Eugene Ormandy helped launch her career. She recorded works by Ginastera and Prokofiev to much acclaim. She has since recorded many works under the Three Oranges label which include composers Liszt, Bartok, Beethoven, Ravel, Brahms, Chopin and Schumann.
