Willem Andriessen ( 1887 - 1964 ) was born in Haarlem, Netherlands. He studied at the Amsterdam Conservatory and eventually taught at the Royal Conservatory in Hague. His diligence to teaching limited his recording and compositional output. As a composer his compositions include a Piano Concerto in D-Flat and a Piano Sonata.
