Sviatoslav Richter ( 1915 - 1997 ) was born in Odessa, Russia. He had an extremely vast repertoire and played composers from Bach to Szymanowski. Richter only played works that he enjoyed which included obscure ones such as Janacek's Concertino and Franck's Les Djinns. As a chamber musician Richter performed works with Kagan, Rostropovich and Fischer-Dieskau.
