Pierre Barbizet ( 1922 - 1990 ) was born in Arica, Chile. He studied at the Paris Conservatoire and the Grand Prix at the Scheveningen International Competition in 1948 gave his name prominence. He was well known accompanist playing with pianists such as Samson Francois and violinist Christian Ferras. He recorded works by Chopin and Faure.
