Konstantin Scherbakov ( 1963 ) was born Barnaul, Russia. He studied at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory and won the first Rachmaninov competition in 1983. Since then he has recorded works by Liszt, Shostakovich and Respighi under the Naxos label.
