Ursula Oppens ( 1944 ) was born in New York City. Her studies at Julliard included interaction with Rosina Lhevinne and Leonard Shure. She won the gold medal at the 1969 Busoni competition. She went on to record many American composers such as Elliott Carter, Charles Wuorinen and Richard Teitelbaum.
