Gianluca Cascioli ( 1979 ) was born in Turin, Italy. He studied at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory. He won the Umberto Micheli piano competition in 1994 which gave his name prominence. He would go on to record works by Beethoven, Webern and Ligeti.
