Alexander Borovsky ( 1889 - 1968 ) was born in Mitau, Russia. He studied at the St. Petersburg Conservatory and won the 1912 Anton Rubinstein prize. His legacy is captured through piano rolls and 78s and then recordings for Vox in the early 1950s. He recorded the English French Suites and the Well-Tempered Clavier by Bach as well as Liszt's Transcendental Etudes and Hungarian Rhapsodies.
