Solomon Cutner ( 1902 - 1988 ) was born in London, England. He studied with Mathilde Verne a pupil of Clara Schumann and prominent professor from the Paris Conservatoire, Lazare Levy. He premiered Arthur Bliss' concerto and recorded a respect Beethoven piano cycle. A stroke would cut his career short, but in spite of this is widely considered one of the greatest pianists of the 20th century.
