Clifford Curzon ( 1907 - 1982 ) was born in London, England. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music and subsequently with renowned artists Artur Schnabel, Wanda Landowska and Nadia Boulanger. He recorded primarily for Decca and his recordings of Schubert and Mozart among others caused many to believe he was one of the greatest pianists of the 20th century.
