Louis Kentner ( 1905 - 1987 ) was a Hungarian pianist that was born in Karwin Austria-Hungary. He studied at the Budapest Royal Academy of Music and in 1932 he finished 5th in the International Chopin competition. He recorded many works by Liszt and Chopin under the Vox label and also did the premiere recording of Lyapunov's Transendental Etudes.
