Jean-Philippe Collard ( 1948 ) was born in Mareuil-sur-Ay, France. At the mere age of 16 he won the first prize at a competition at the Paris Conservatory of Music. Subsequently success at the Thibaud and Cziffra competitions gave his name more prominence. He recorded heavily for EMI and his discography includes works by Chopin, Liszt, Faure and Ravel.
