Staffan Scheja ( 1950 ) was born in Danderyd, Sweden. He studied at the Royal College of Music and subsequently Julliard. He won the 1975 Busoni competition which gave his name prominence. His discography includes works by Prokofiev, Schumann and Ravel across labels such as BIS and Virgin.
