Robert Benz ( 1954 ) was born in Apatin, Serbia. He studied at the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe and subsequently with Rosina Lhevinne at Julliard. He won the 1974 Busoni competition and his recordings include the Beethoven sonatas under the Thorofon label.
