Pietro Scarpini ( 1911 - 1997 ) was born in Rome, Italy. He studied with Alfred Casella and had a successful career. He is best known for his recordings such as Beethoven's Concerto No. 4 with Furtwangler and Prokofiev's second concerto with Mitropoulos.
