Emanuel Ax ( 1949 ) was born in Liev, Ukraine. He studied at Julliard and would eventually work there. Although he was an accomplished soloist, he is best known for his collaborations with renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma. Together they recorded works by Brahms, Mozart and Beethoven. As a soloist he recorded works by Chopin, Liszt and Mozart.
