Piotr Paleczny ( 1946 ) was born in Rybnik, Poland. He studied at Warsaw's State Higher School of Music with Jan Ekier. He placed 3rd in the 1970 Chopin competition which gave his name prominence. His discography includes works by Chopin, Mozart and Szymanowski.
