Krystian Zimerman ( 1956 ) was born in Zabrze, Poland. His career took off after he won the infamous international Chopin competition in 1975. Since then he has recorded exclusively for Deutsche Grammophon and recorded works by Brahms, Chopin, Liszt and a few fellow Polish composers. The Polish composers include Lutoslawski, Szymanowski and Bacewicz.
