Vladimir Sofronitsky ( 1901 - 1961 ) was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. He studied at the Petrograd Conservatory under Leonid Nikolayev. He married a daughter of composer Alexander Scriabin and would be linked with playing the composers works to much acclaim. His other recordings include works by Chopin, Liszt and Schumann.
