Yakov Flier ( 1912 - 1977 ) was born in Orekhovo-Zuyevo, Russia. He studied at the Moscow Conservatory with Konstantin Igumnov and subsequently would became a professor there. He was a specialist of Russian composers and recorded works by Kabalevsky, Rachmaninov and Chopin.
