Tatiana Nikolayeva ( 1924 - 1993 ) was born in Bezhitsa, Russia. She studied at the Moscow Conservatory under Alexander Goldenweiser. Shostakovich dedicated his 24 Preludes and Fugues to her and this would be an interictal part of her repertoire. She also recorded works by Bach, Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky.
