José Feghali ( 1961 - 2014 ) was born in Rio de Janiero, Brazil. He won the 7th Van Cliburn competition which gave his name prominence. His brief discography included works by Brahms, Reger and Schumann. He succumbed to depression and is believed to have committed suicide at the mere age of 53.
