Raoul Koczalski ( 1884 - 1948 ) was born in Warsaw, Poland. Although he never trained at conservatory he studied with a student of Chopin, Karol Mikuli. He was also a prolific composer and composed 6 piano concertos, and several Legends and Sonatas. His discography includes works by Chopin and his own compositions.
