Alexander Goldenweiser ( 1875 - 1961 ) was born in Chișinău, Russia. He studied at the Moscow Conservatory under Alexander Siloti and would become a prominent professor himself. In addition he was a prominent composer and his discography includes works by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov and Medtner.
