Josef Hofmann ( 1876 - 1957 ) was born in Kraków, Poland. He was a child prodigy and would study with Anton Rubinstein. He was widely considered one of the greatest pianists of the 20th century. His recordings include works by Chopin, Liszt and Rachmaninov.
