Andor Földes ( 1913 - 1992 ) was born in Budapest, Hungary. He studied at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music and he studied both with Ernő Dohnányi and Béla Bartók. He would become renowned for his Bartok recording and under the Deutche Grammophon label he also recorded works by Liszt, Rachmaninov and Mozart.
