Dinu Lipatti ( 1917 - 1950 ) was born in Bucharest, Romania. He studied at the Bucharest Conservatoire and subsequently with Cortot in Paris. He quickly grew acclaim for his recordings of Grieg and Chopin. He died of Hodgkin's disease at the mere age of 33.
