Jörg Demus ( 1928 - 2019 ) was born in St. Pölten, Austria. He studied at the Vienna Academy of Music. He was an well known accompanist as he played with singers Elisabeth Schwarzkopf and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau and fellow pianist Paul Badura-Skoda. His recordings include works by Schubert, Beethoven and the complete works of Schumann and Debussy.
