Karen Khachaturian ( 1920 - 2011 ) was a Armenian composer and the nephew of Aram Khachaturian. He studied with Dmitri Shostakovich and Nikolai Myaskovsky and would go on to teach at the Moscow Conservatory. His violin sonata was recorded by the renowned violinist Jascha Heifeitz.
