Giuseppe Tartini ( 1692 - 1770 ) was an Italian composer. He was an accomplished violinist and was the first owner of a Stradivari violin. In addition to being a prodigious violinist he also composed for the instrument. He is best known for his Devi's Trill Sonata which many violinists use to demonstrate their virtuosity.
