Leonard Bernstein ( 1918 - 1990 ) was an American composer. He is most known for his symphonies and West Side story symphonic suite. His second symphony features the piano and wrote a piano sonata and many pieces known as Anniversaries. He was also an accomplished pianist and recorded works by Gershwin, Ravel and Shostakovich.
